I've used the BG-44K treatment on both my Miata and my two Maxima's ('92 and '03).
My girlfriend had "induction cleaning" on her '95 626 added on by the dealer when she had her timing belt replaced. I think it was about $80. When she gets the car back there's a BG hang tag on her rear-view mirror that advises her that the additive has been put in her tank and for best effect she should not refill the tank until it's nearly empty (same advice found on the can).
I was curious and stopped by the dealer to ask what other procedures are used in this "induction cleaning" other than adding the BG-44K. After some hemming and hawing, it turns out, absolutely nothing. She paid $80 for a $16 can of BG-44K.
The stuff for some reason is hard to find at normal parts stores. Maybe it's a marketing thing to keep the price up by only supplying to dealers. I've picked some up on e-bay buying three at a time for about $15 each, or there are probably other sources on the seb. I've never noticed any performance improvements after using it (or any changes on my girlfriend's 626). However, I use it as a preventative maintenance item every 25-30,000 miles so I probably never build up enough deposits in the first place. I'll also use a Techron additive every six tanks or so. Never had any injector problems on any of my cars. Not sure if it's this regular addition of cleaners or just good luck.

The proper "induction cleaning" procedures if the dealer had done the work correctly should involved:
1) Run a bottle of B&G-44k through a vacuum hose through the upper intake mainfold while the car is running.
2) Clean the throttle body assembly.
3) Add a bottle of B&G-44K to a full tankof gas.
-If the above steps were done, then $80 is actually not too bad at all.

And I already HAVE read the FAQ. And where are these supposed IMPORTANT threads? How do you turn off this silly "I need to read the FAQ and IMPORTANT threads before posting a question
before posting a question" tag?
I've been on the board for years with my '92 and '03 Max but somehow my earlier board name went dead on me for no apparent reason.
