115 Octane ?!
My friend told me that at various tracks they sell gas at octane ratings of 100, 110 (i think) and 115...do they really sell 115?? if so how expensive is that and does it really help performance wise for the few runs you'll take (as opposed to premium with octane rating of 93)

Yes, they sell higher octane fuel at tracks. It's typically known as "blue or purple" gas. I think the purple is 116 octane. Normally the lowest you will find is 108 octane (at the track).
I am sure this next comment will bring the responses out of the woodwork, but this will not help your performance unless you have detonation problems. It will help with NOS or forced induction applications as you can lean out the car slightly or not have to retard the timing as much to help overall performance. This fuel is for cars with higher compression ratios; ie. 12:1 and up.
This stuff costs anywhere from about $4 to $5 per gallon depending on which track and which octane.

Be careful about the track fuel though because most of it is leaded and will eventually take your o2 sensors out.
I use 114 Unleaded Pro fuel Mark 5 because of that. Its a little harder to get but worth the trouble.

Like burnout said it won't help unless you are on spray or boosted. I use it because its much cheaper than the cost of retarding the timing and I only use it with the nitrous so even though I race aprox 12 times per summer, 2 or 3 gallons is all I use.
