NISSAN NORTH AMERICAN ISSUES WIDESPREAD RECALL

By Aaron Wyle
.c The Associated Press

GARDENA, California (March 31) - Nissan North America, in accordance with the USBR Materials Engineering and Research Laboratory, has issued a recall on all 2000 and 2001 model year Nissan Maximas, including all three trim levels (GXE, SE, and GLE). The recall deals with excessive and premature damage in regard to the exterior paint.

"We've recieved numerous complaints as of late," says Takashi Terada, Vice President of Nissan North America Quality Management. "As a concerned party, we felt a massive recall was necessary to correct this unfortunate circumstance."

The recall, in part, consists of "unnecessary and noticible paint chipping when examining the automobiles exterior, specifically...the hood, front bumper, and driver and passanger doors."

Effecting every 2000 and 2001 Maxima manufactured, this recall stands to be one of the largest and most widespread in U.S. history.

All questions can be answered by dialing the toll free number of Nissan North America at 1-800-NISSAN-1 (1-800-647-7261). Pamphlets will be mailed to all owners effected within the next 12-14 days. These pamphlets will include the background information dealing with the recall, and when and where to go to have their automobiles serviced.

Yo that $hit wasn't very nice...... I was so happy that I'll be getting a new paint job.
But seriously... They should have a recall. I have so many stone chips on my hood and bumper.

Another reason is that he said "Effecting" and not "Affecting". But I must agree that it was a good one.
