Transmission Fluid Change in a 2K SE

I'm trying to decide what's the best route to follow in chenging the fluid in my 2K SE Auto's transmission. I have 110K on the engine and it was last replaced at 40K. Now, I have no problem with the transmission but I'm inthe process of making all kinds of minor or major maintenance on the car. I'll be replacing the tires/wheels, just replaced the stereo, will have the front bumper repainted, etc. One machanic suggested just flushing the old fluid(Jiffy lube style) and replacing it with new one. My personal mechanic suggested replacing the filter and the gasket. Which method have you folks found to be most effective? Which method gets the most fluid out? Are there any significant changes in shifting when you do this procedure? I'm not looking for a boy-racer at this time, just the best procedure for the car. By the way, mechanic #1 wants $48 for the flushing/replacing of the fluid. Mechanic #2 wants $55 for the labor, parts, fluid extra, to be suplied by me. I never race the car and I'll be getting a new car either next Fall or early Spring. However, since I drive alot I'll keep my Max and continue to put lots of mileage on it.

if you are looking to keep the car for a while then i would have the tranny fluid drained out then drop the pan. he will clean the pan and magnets. he will replace the gasket then put the pan back up. you will get around 6 quarts out all together so only about half is replaced through this method but if its never been cleaned then i would have that done.
