I've heard this whistling noise from the engine ever since i bought the car. When ever i accelerate hard, at around 3500 RPM I hear a whisling sound coming from the engine. It doesnt happen if i accelerate normally. The dealer tells me its the intake that makes that whilstling noise...but i dont buy that.
ANyone hear the same thing?

 

It's the intake, moreso the throttle body. It's the rushing of the air past the butterfly valve into the throttle body that makes the sound.

 

It's normal. I asked this question before when i just bought my Max and everyone had it too. BTW, this was when I was stock.

competly normal, wait till ya put on a Cold Air intake or even a cone intake.... it will whistle like crazy. I love the way it whistles my non gear head friends think I got a turbo cause it whistles and then makes this weird buzzing sound- its the flexpipe on the Cattman Y pipe... DUDE his car is turbo

 

hehehe..thats what one of my friends thought too...is there anyway I can reduce that noise though?

 

the poor man's fake turbo....if you hold the accellerator just right you can get a nice consistent turbo-ish whine and impress the ricers in the civic next to you

 

i had the wistle at first when i got my berk intake but now its gone..
i want it back
