place racing cai
I've had my CAI for 60K miles, whatch out as I just noticed after a loooong overdue for cleaning of the filter, that it rusts out inside the tubing. I threw out the "MonsterFlow" filter and threw on a generic Autozone "cone" that seemed to help the engine breathe better than the 60K mile old never cleaned filter did <yikes>. 2001s take a few hours to install- need to modify alot of fuse boxes and remove alot of items in order to cut a hole and still keep your stock fuse boxes- I remember what I had to do to my baby with saws and cutting wheels
Thanks for the post blackbird. I need to do that too. Do you remember which cone filter you used. And you are right the hole cutting i thought was easy but you did have to circumsize the fuse box and that did take some time. I got a very small battery now and had i had that when doing the CAI install i wouldnt have had to do some of that.
Info on the cone filter that you swapped out would be most appreciated.
You want to get together and help KPazzo do his coilovers?

Sure I can bring some air tools ? when are U guys installing them ? I'm doing a auto to 6spd tranny swap on a 00 SE Max this Sat, so I might be kinda bussy. I just got some cheap generic APC 3" inlet cone K&N. It had some kind of a velocity stack inside it- paid like 20 bux for it. I didn't wanna spend 150 on a Apexi one- diffs in power ? I say slim to none vs the cheap 20 dollar cone. Fitment fo the Place Racing CAI is like trying to fit a set of HS headers on a Maxima, requires alot of cutting, cursing and thinking..... I think they sell us the 4th gen version or something..... Cause it sure as hell not fitting my car perfect.
