Fog light rewire problem (DRLs)

Preface note: DRL = Daytime Running Lights (car came from Canada)

I rewired my fogs to come on with my parking lights as per the write-up on Housecors site. It worked perfectly, the fogs come on and can be shut off with the parking lights. However, the DRLs stay on almost negating the effect. I haven't seen what it looks like at dusk or night but during the day both fogs and DRLs light up.

Is there any way I can remove the DRLs? I would prefer to only have them on with all lights off but wouldn't mind them to be terminated entirely.

Are the DRL's a separate bulb from your headlights? If so, you probably have a fuse or relay for them that you can possibly remove to disable them. I would have to consult my service manual to see how the system is wired.

The DRL's are his high beams running at 50% power.

That's definitely what I figured. I didn't realize that they stayed on with the parking lights. That said, I wonder if there is a relay for it.

I don't have a service manual.
