Projector Headlights: Clear or Blue Lens???

the projector headlights... i was wondering what the difference is between a clear lens and a blue lens. if i swap bulbs, i.e. some PIAA's, what kind of a difference will it make if i have a clear or blue lens?

thanx in advance,
Tong

I thought about that as well not to long ago. I would say that if you got same bulbs, and different color projectors (clear and blue), the blue projector might have a different color of the output compair to the clear one.

In general terms or are you comparing specific projectors? Anyhow, color should not affect light output temperature since most projectors will look multicolored due to light refraction but should all have the same output regardless of how they look. Any none POS brand that is.

Here's some pics to drool over! I like the looks of these projectors but I've seen better projectors. I totally forgot that 7500K is NOT going to make these brighter. I like the looks but I think Hellas and/or Valeos are way better,IMHO. You get what you pay for. I think the best way to get the most out of these projectors is to get Piaa Extreme or Platinum whites or Sylvania Silverstars; something bright white and better than these OEM type bulbs.

Like 2k3TitaniumSe said, they are replacement bulbs. They look cool, but as i mentioned earlier I totally forgot that the kelvin rating on the bulbs would not make it brighter. I'll live with it for now, but looking into other options.

I'm not sure how a tinted or colored lense would work. Naturally if you did have a blue lense it would produce a blue colored light.

What are you trying to accomplish? To have a different color lense or producing light color?

If I had to choose, i would go with a clear. Hope this helps.

thanx... i think i've made up my mind. im going with the clear. i can always choose the color of my light with the bulb... im assuming a bulb lens would complicate things. thanx though, much appreciated
