VQ35DE Intake Manifold Thread (As seen on altimas.net)

For you maxima guys that dont visit altimas.net here is a little run down about what is happening. We have agreed to fabricate and test an Intake manifold on the VQ35DE, instead of having to pay $900, we are going to be mass producing this item only after we prove its gains. We expect gains similar to the G35/350Z which show 7-15WHP and a peak of 12-20WHP increase in power.

This thread is in response to the people that are interested in purchasing an Altima/Maxima 3.5 V6 Intake Manifold, the projected price of the intake manifold is $495.00-$595.00, and this is a completely new Intake Manifold, not just a plenum, or a stock one with a port job.

I'm very interested as long as it will work with the stock intake and the gains are documented.

Best of luck in getting this off the ground. I'm sure given the shared engine, the Maxima community will welcome this mod, as long as it provides good gains for the Alti guys.

Nice. Odd that you mention the Altima forums and then post a rwd engine picture. If you use the same manifold the tb will now point directly forward. Probably not that good. But it seems as long as the main body of the manifold fits, it's a simple thing to use maybe a straight piece.

I'll be waiting for an actual product for the 5.5gen Maxima, and dyno results. There's another IM in the works, so we'll see which one performs better I guess.

That is our VQ35 RWD Intake Manifold, it's just a picture to show you what the manifold design/look is going to be like, we cannot swap the RWD one directly because it is too tall, we are going to have to make a smaller intake manifold for the Altima/Maxima guys

This is an Interest thread guys, so just assume that positive gains are noted and the price is between $495-$595, would you be interested in purcahsing?

I think for me, I would definatly have to see the power gains before making an investment of $495-595. How soon do you think you will be able to bring this out?

Lets say you get 20HP with headers only. Headers cost around the same price as this. Now lest say you put on this new IM and get an additional 20 (with headers)
I think that would be worth it. From what I read at altimas.net, out IMs are very restrictive. So we would see a lot more gains than the 350 guys because theirs arent as restrictive. So if you think about it, its not steep, its in the right price race... Besides, if you get a group deal going, im sure you could get it for a few bucks cheaper anyways. Lets see how the Dynoes go..

SSR, what is the update on your turbo kit for the 3.5 maxima? Will this new IM be compatable with your turbo kits?

I'm curious about this as well, and if not are you all developing one for the 3.0 max?

I agree Killer, but who is going to commit at this very point with no real results and no actual product. As someone mentioned earlier, this is an "interest" thread.

good point...but this is for people interested in purchasing... it always happens when its time to pay...then no one comes up with the cash... its nerve racking when ur waiting after you've paid. and makes vendors not want to work with us.
