I'm looking for a lip kit for my 2k max and really want the Stillen Aero kit but it's like $800 and then you have to paint it (not sure how much that usually runs). I saw a place that sells the AE aero kit for just over $900, but it comes painted. I still like the looks of the stillen over the AE, but not sure if the price will be worth it after paint. What would you guys get?

 

what other mods do you have? If you are stock right now, I woudl say take the $800 and spend it on some goods that will make the car handle better or be faster...

but, if the kit is your #1 priority, then I'd say get the stillen aero lip and the AE sides and back.....

 

If you want the stillen kit call up southwest autoworks and mention the org to see what kind of price they will give you. If you want the AE kit, look up Jerry Rome Nissan. They have the best prices and discounts. Personally, they look pretty similar to me, so I would go with whichever is cheaper.

How much does it usually cost to paint a lip kit or even just the front lip? I like the stillen front and AE sides/rear idea but do they just sell AE sides and rear?

Jerry Rome is the place that I saw that sells the complete AE for $912. I just don't know if the stillen+paint+shipping would be cheaper or close to the price of the AE+shipping.

 

the AE kit is outrageously expensive when you split it up. The whole kit comes painted aroudn $750-$800 whereas just the front AE lip is unpainted for $380 (i believe list price is $450)

As for the stillen lip/kit, painting more pieces at once is cheaper than just painting one lip (cost of paint, mixing, color matching, etc)

 

I just bought a Stillen classic lip from Southwest and the cheapest estimate I got for painting it was $300.

 

For just the front lip?!?

 

sounds about right. Like i said, its cheaper to paint a whole kit than just one lip

 

yeah, just the lip, but that also included installation(some double-sided tape and a couple of screws)

 

If you get fiberglass sides and rear, kit will be cheaper. Urethene is a must though for the front lip

 

I would just get the nissan AE kit. It seems expenisive BUT it comes pre-painted. The stillen kit is something you still have to paint which, if you want a decent paint job esp. if you have icelandic pearl, can cost more.

I might have someone buying my STILLEN kit (MUCH NICER), but if he backs out, I'll let you know. I bought it new for $1400 from STILLEN...SUCKER!!

Don't get the AE kit. The STILLEN kit is much "beefier". A couple of AE guys took there kits off and put on the STILLEN kit.

 

Thanks, but your kit is black, which means I'll still have to get it painted =\ (my car is sunlit sand). Why does painting cost so much!?! $300 for just the front lip, that means painting the whole kit would be like $400+?

i'm in the process of getting my stillen kit (lip, sides, and rear) painted for $250. either i'm getting a sh!tty paint job or the extreme hook up. hopefully the later...we'll just have to see.

 

i got my stillen lip for 50 bucks and painted it for 200..

 

hey..is there anyway i can just buy stillen or AE sideskirts? I can buy AE lip from x3racing for 100 bucks...I just need skirts..i don't need rear...also..if i add skirts on..can i still use a jack? or ramp?

 

You've got to "know" somebody. I got my hood painted, my spoiler removed and trunk painted , and third brake light installed, and the kit painted for $500.
$400 seems right for a paint shop that thinks they are the best in town, though.

 

They sell them separate at STILLEN.
You can probably get the AE skirts separate from Dave Burnette.

 

I got my entire kit painted for $200. They did a real good job.
