you mean the thing that goes around the tips on the 2k1-2 (what year is your Max?)

You order some magnaflow tips for me, and I'll send you my OEM tips !

If you are looking for the Maganaflow 35131's, go here and order them. Very good price, low shipping costs, and I got mine in about 4-5 days.

Awesome!! Thank You. My pipes are 2" diameter,...so is it best to get the 2.25 slip ons?

Thanks

Do the ManaFlow tips need to be welded on...or do they just bolt on?

If you have an AE then your max didn't come with any exhaust tip covers since we have the "special" muffler. I was thinking about putting something on them to make them look better though so let me know what you find out that can be done easily without having to weld and saw things.

Hey I have a pair of those Magnaflow 35131 tips, brand new in box. I decided not to install them, so they're up for sale. I haven't posted threads about it yet, but PM/email me if you're interested!

I don't have mine on yet, but welding and cutting are definitely involved. The outside diameter of the stock tips (on the AE anyway) is 2 in, but the inside diameter of the magnaflows is 2 and 1/4 in. There is such a thing as a muffler tip expander that actually stretches the metal to make them fit...a mechanic should have one. They have to be welded on then with a wire welder.

I placed an order for two bolt on tips from:

http://www.sup-auto.com

I got the Stainless straight 2" x 6" bolt ons. They assured me that the 2" should slip right over my stock 2" pipes.....so we'll see.

When they come in, I'll try to post pictures.

I've seen AE's with the curved down pipes and the straight pipes; mine has the straight pipes (they look like crap). Why Nissan didn't dress them up a little better, I'll never figure out.

I'm probably going to end up putting a full new system in, but these tips will help erase the only ugly thing on my beloved Max.

That's correct. Stock is 2" and the Magnaflows are 2.25". I took mine to Midas and they cut off the stock tips, welded the slip on and the new tips for $35.
