i have an automatic 2K gxe. i was wondering what mods were out there that would make my car faster. please include an approx. price for each mod. thanks a lot for the help guys.

 

Lot of intakes out there both warm and cold but I have to recommend my own being the Place Racing CAI which is about $200 after shipping from Cattman and some other places (keep in mind for this you have to cut a hole in your engine bay so the monster flow air filter can fit in the wheel well...trust me the sound and performance is worth it)....also the best bolt on modification for a max is a y pipe...many will say get cattman but the Budget one (that i have from Budget Exhaust in Canada . . . $198 shipped) is also stainless steel and i love mine...just accentuates sound of the intake and isn't much louder unless you have cat back exhaust...gives nice growl sound and is real nice under WOT . . . also recommend underdrive pulley but you will need to replace various belts with this and there has been talk that it may drain power from the rest of the car but i'm not sure...hope this helps you some...good luck

 

Horsepower gains from Place Racing CAI are supposed to be 5-12 hp and the Y pipe up to 20 horsepower....they work better together and I don't think you should expect the maximum of both and I'd estimate it's about maybe 15-20 horsepower total combined but the sound is awesome either way...just so you know...not sayin this is true all the time but just from my experience...i have not gotten dyno'd

 

any type of intake combined with a y-pipe is the best way to go
