2.2 drop
#2
I take it your talkin about the tein S-Tech springs which is 2.2'' and 1.6'' drop. The answer is no. I have the s-techs with the illuminas (awsome set-up) and i bought an eibach alignment kit, but then relized i didn't need it, so i did not install it. When i took my max in for an alignment the camber was still within the specified limits.

20s.... um.... that's a little extreme. I've heard of 18s and 19s on them, but 20s? Truthfully, if you keep the outer diameter the same as the stock's diameter, you can do it. But you'd be talking about a really really small sidewall. I personally wouldn't do it.
As for the drop, I've got pictures on my web site with my car on 18s on the drop. If you went with 20s, the diameter stays the same, but the sidewall of the tires would be much smaller. I currently run 235/40ZR18s on mine. I'd assume on 20s that you'd be near a 20-30 sidewall. That's too close for me.

Question VQ30DES,
I have Tein S-Techs with GR-2s and the ride is getting progressivly worse. I know that it is from the struts being week. However I also had an issue from day one with front struts bottoming out on med size potholes or bumps, even on the freeway. My question to you is do you have that problem with the Illuminas. Hopefully they are stiff enough with an ok ride for the travel of suspension that is left in the front. I have always driven lowered cars and this is the worse I've ever had.
It's between the Illums and D2 coilovers.
BTW I did trim my bumpstops
