2003 Maxima SE - Wheel Question

I just bought a 2003 Maxima SE (Titanium Edition) and one of the wheels has some dis-coloration on it (fairly noticable). It looked like brake dust crap but I can't get it off. Any thoughts/suggestions? I am sure this is something the warranty won't cover (although the car is still under factory warranty) so if I decided to just replace it myself, any ideas where I can get one and possibly a part number on it?

Thanks in advance.

WD-40, works wonders for that hard to get off brake dust.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try them tomorrow. They are Titanium Edition - the car came with every possible option (except Nav sys). Trying to gauge how much a replacement would cost too!

Thanks in advance!

Try Mothers Metal Polish. That usually does a great job.

At this point the damage is done and you're likely to just make it worse if you start experimenting. As you can see in the above posted TSB, the wheel finish can be very easily discolored with improper products. I've tried using some different polishes but have found soapy water and a soft sponge produce the best results. Other products just haze the finish. I'd suggest replacing the wheel.

Dang it!

Well this blows... I thought I got a SWEET deal on a car and now it is like a small thing here and little thing there!

Thanks for everybody's input. I guess I am going to look for a replacement for it. Other mods will have to wait a bit!

I have heard of places that "fix" issues with wheels for about $100/wheel - do not know if it worth investigating that or not.
