Alternator for my 2k

The alternator went out in my 2k (66790miles) and I'm having a heck of a time locating one. Actually, my problem is locating one locally but I've found several sites online that sell them. Is this a known issue with alternators going out this early in mileage?

Thanks in advance,

Reef

i just recently replaced mine @ 49k. i purchased a reman for 132 with tax. i have not seen too many others post up about replacing them on an irregular basis. i run an odyseey battery which is much lighter than stock but also less powerful. i first thought the battery killed it but many others run the battery on oem alternators with no issue. im sticking with the odyssey again and will see what happens in time.

yeah, I thought my battery might have had something to do with it too. I replaced it early last month. I did find a pretty good deal for a reman alternator for $119 and an $80 core charge. I charged up the battery and drove it to work today so I could take it to the shop but I don't know if I want to keep doing that. Don't want to risk getting stranded again, it's 100deg outside and I don't run the AC!
