hey

anyone wanna be a pal and send me some info or links on O2 sensors? basically i have a P0141 O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2 code and im tryin to figure out which one it is. car is a 00 Max 5speed california spec. has 4 O2 sensors...ugh. any help appreciated. thanks

 

OK...the verbal way to do it is this (per ESM):

The bank ONE REAR Heated O2 has a WHITE sleeve around the wire.

The bank TWO REAR Heated O2 has a RED sleeve around the wire.

If you are looking at the four connectors (bottom of connector sleeves) from left to right you will see:

Green Red White Black (or loomed)

Connector color on mine is

Gray Gray Black Green.

If you look under the car, passenger side of the Ypipe, you will see the two rear sensors. One (I belive white) is in the elbow of the Y, while the red is a bit farther back.

my question is what is bank 1 and what is bank 2? im assuming bank 1 is closest to you when your looking at the engine. thanks for your help.

 

bank one is the the sensors that come of cylinder 1,3 ,5 which is by the fire wall.
if the 4 is like an 2001 i30 it the one on the pre cat near the firewall.

i gotta get the car smogged but i dont think itll pass with this O2 prob thingie...

 

It wont...Since Larrio sent you the ESM...let me know if you still want pics. ESM really isnt clear on location...you have to follow the wires. I can snaps a quick pic or two underneath to show you what you are looking for.

i acutally used an ESM before and i hate it....id juss use that as a last resort. thanks man
