Motor Mounts

I'm looking into these. Which ones are best and mainly cost effective? Which ones will decrease my wheel hop but also not make my car shake during idle speeds.

Please post the kind you have and what you think about them. Also, how much will labor run me to have these put in?

Thanks

Um there is only one type which is the place racing and the rest are handmade by drilling out your current ones and filling them with urethane #80 or #90 hardness.

Labor? 2hrs if you have the motor mounts in hand. If you plan on making your own? Well the motor mounts need to be removed then drilled then filled and wait 3days to dry.

Energy Suspension mounts if you have patience.....the design is made to reduce vibrations at idle, while activating it's "performance" when under WOT or aggressive driving. this is based on grooves in the mount, thus allowed the "vibrations" to escape, also allowing the engine some flex. when pressure is put on the mounts, the grooves disappear and you get a solid mount.

in comparison, place racing is a full solid mount, which is where some have complained that they feel alot when at idle. i don't feel anything. i've had them for a few months now and i love them.

Those are not technically motor mounts, they are energy bushings, and definetely aint gonna be easy to do at home, need a press to put that **** in.

Are place racing good? Seriously what kind of questions are these smoky? Its a fuggin motor mount with urethane in it. Its like asking me on my deck "which pressure treated board is better than the other?"

just because it doesn't containt he mount, you're gonna call it a bushing? they are using the OEM mount so that we save on money. if they told you it was a motor "bushing" you'd be confused...."where the hell is that?!?!" it's a motor mount because other than the bracket, that's where ti's being used. no real need to be that picky.

yes, you will need a press. that don't cost much at all. and takes what, 10 minutes at most.

now, i've seen complaints about the vibrations with the PR mounts, which is why i offered the ES as an option, and again, if he had patience. at the end, it really don't matter what he picks. one isnt' better than the other in performance. but, the grooves do allow for a comfortable idle, giving the motor some flex.

i wanna hear your opinion on these too, dixit....as this could be an interesting thread. we need to pinpoint the good and the bad to really see which one would a better pick.

The Place Racing motor mounts really are not as bad in idle as people are making them out to be. Half the descriptions make them sound like a 8.4 earthquake is coming though. Even with the cams' lope, I can't tell all that much of a difference.

Hey guys,

A quick question related to engine mounts. When you guys replaced them, do you replace
the front one, rear one and the one on the top on the passenger side right? What about the one
on driver side, which technically called Transmission mount?

Thanks.

OK MOUNT BRANDS: place racing and energy susp. I went to there web site.

ON ENERGY SITE they DO NOT LIST maxima let alone a 2002-2003 any one help me with this?

I will call place racing and ask to see if they have max 2002-2003 mounts.

AND TO ASK WHAT WAS ASKED ABOVE IN ANOTHER POST??? are you guys replacing all mounts.. or just front and back lower>?

I just had my mounts front back lower replaced under warranty.. they said both were broken.. yet I got the car back and it still feels sloppy as an old ford with a million miles. You can make the engine move just with the slightest gas pedal asjustment... do you guys agree?

Why isnt this a recall?
And is this why you guys are replacing them with eurathane?
I was going to have my own made but thanks to you guys I may have found some I can buy. JUST NEED TO KNOW IF THEY MAKE IT FOR MAX 2002-2003. THANKS GUYS.. YOU ROCK!

Most likely when you call Place Racing they'll say that they don't make motor mounts for the 02-03 Maxima's. At least they did when i called them. Just ignore them and call Southwest Autoworks and tell Steve or any of the people there that you want the mounts and specify if it's for an auto or manual since they're different. As for the mounts being rough. To a certain extent they are, but overall the benifits make it all well worth it. I've had them on my car for 6 months now and I happen to love them. They make the car feel like a race car....haha. Most people that ride in my car honestly don't even know that the mounts have been changed. Besides once you start driving around you can't feel them. Anyway, I hope this helps....peace.
