2000 Maxima Motor Mounts

I've been told one of my motor mounts is "whining" at startup and at engine stop. Anybody had one of these replaced? Costs? Better to go to dealer or elsewhere? Would it be covered under my now non-existent warranty? Thanks for your help, folks !!

I dont remeber how much I paid the dealer for installing it; I just know I got raped. If you know for sure it is the motor mount go somewere else. Unless you have extended warrenty your not covered. Only the Drive train is covered I think.
If it isn't super super loud I say just keep it. Most cars don't have electronically actuated motor mounts. Thats just my opinion. Good luck.

Shorted motor mounts have burned up more that just a few ECUs
around here. Then it gets really really expensive!!!!!!!!!!!

Ugh, is there something on this car that works properly? OK I have to ask, what is an "electronic actuated motor mount" and why would fry the ECU?

I *sometimes* hear a high pitch 'squeal' right after the starter disengages. I have no idea what it is.
