Well after driving the WRX and then my 2k1 SE again and thinking about the pros and cons I have made my decision. My SE is going to stay mine and not go to my wife. Even though the WRX has a better 0-60 time and 5 more hp it doesn't seem to be much faster. The Max's engine is more fun to drive and the interior is definately more luxurious. The awd of the WRX was the enticing factor but how many people race during the winter or off road? I love my Max and don't really see me loving the WRX any more so. With 1 or 2 mods our Maximas are just as fast and provide a much more comfortable ride!

Here's my take.. WRX is more of a drivers car and has more tunability but the Max is a much better daily driver that can be tweaked for more fun. Stock interior is much better in the max and it is more comfortable for me to drive (perhaps due to me not adjusting the seat properly in the WRX). I'd love to have a WRX but since I only have one car in the family the max is a better and more comfortable choice.

If you have an extra couple grand around you could have the best of both and SC your maxima...

In a few years I want to pick up a used wrx and go all out:

Exhaust
Chip
7 point roll cage
Racing harnesses
Coilovers
STS
etc...

That'd be a fun toy

I like the trend that car manufacturers are taking, more performance oriented, fun to drive, and yet practical cars. Getting me in a Prius will be hard...

But again.. new car cost more.. US WRX will have an existing aftermarket base... at least that's what I tell myself.

But there's a whole bunch of Lancer stuff across the Pacific. I'm pretty sure they'll be shipped over once the Lancer hits our shores.

But lancer's don't have giant ugly bug headlights that have grown on me!! Plus.. Mitsu's recent repair history has me frightened.... all those suppressed recalls... I like the subie reliability better :P

I think that you made a good decision, I just am not impressed with the looks of the Subaru.
