Carbon Fiber Hood

White Maxima 02 With Carbon Fiber Hood?

Before i install it, i wanted your feed back on possible draw backs.

In the winter, how will it handle snow? (IN NY 1 feet of snow???)

In an Accident, Does it Shatter and bend like stock hood or is there a risk of the hood going thru the wind shield?

Insurance / Can insurance deny a claim because of a aftermarket part such as a hood?

Warranty, Only part that the warranty will be voided is going to be the hood correct?

Overall Black hood on a white maxima looks good ;-)

Please feel free to express your idea's opinions.. thanks

heres a pic of mine:

I've always liked the way they look on white cars, but some people dont. I've heard they hold up just as good in the winter, im in NY also, and im not worried at all. not quite sure how it would handle in an accident though...

Good call!

LeftCoast Tuning is now officially open for business, offering all major brands of aftermarket parts. One of our new distributors is a company called ABS Dynamics, which happens to make a CF hood for 4th & 5th gen Maximas. They'll be a way better deal than any of the other ones out there. Contact sales@leftcoasttuning.com if interested

thanks for the comments man.

yeah youll be able to do the install yourself, and the hoodpins hold it down very tight, doesnt move at all. i got the hood from redlinemax.com, i went and picked it up to avoid the shipping costs, its in brooklyn. as far as the front plate, its not a real big deal, if you get pulled over for something else, they'll prob mention it, but i keep the plate in my trunk just in case...say it fell off or something plus i have a PBA badge, which helps.

I got my tint done at a place called Hildreth's Glass, they do a real good job, gotten a bunch of windows tinted there.

wow, love your sig. anyways....yes, the hood looks hella tite and nice.
i would get it. and i think, if you do get into an accident, it probably would not go through the windshield. it will probably just crack where the hood is being held on to and besides, any mod you do to a car, is pretty much putting danger to your life.

mods = more hp = more speed = to driving faster = getting into car accident.
so i wouldnt worry too much. it looks great. but, there are people out there that think they look disgusting.

Why i support the hood , its simple
Weight / Looks

And my stock hood has a dent in it , i need to replace it, and instead of putting in a stock hood, i want to apply cf hood, lighter, plus i have a box in the trunk for woofers and i'd like to keep the weight low in the car and i cant get rid of the woofers lol ..

and i think it looks good, yah it can be ricey if u put on neon glow washer nossels lol or gay exchaust.. but if ur car looks clean it looks good..

Not all of us wana spend 1.5g's for a super ricey body kit lol..

i got mine from the same place, got mine used from them with hood pins for $200, and picked it up from their shop

only thing is im having a hard time trying to get my hood to close all the way. had to grind the safety release lever a little, take off some of the stock intake pipeing and it still has a gap.

anyone else have this same problem with a 2k2-2k3?

my guess would be like 30-40lbs

I have a DEA badge and i still wont take off my plates on long island. just another excuse for them to pull my over... then give me a tint ticket, seatbelt.... etc. etc.

edit: oh yea... does anyone have a blue max with a carbon fiber hood? i was kinda interested in the one with the scoop design... anyone kno what im talking about? i think the OEM CF hood is kinda plain.

I don't like fiber carbon so i voted no, but i will say it does look good on white. But like I said, i don't like it and would never put it no matter how it looked.

Are you sure? I would think it isn't as ricey as having the same rims as 3,435 other .org members.
