We raced on the highway from around 45-50mph to about 120... and he was about a car, or half a car ahead (you really cant tell).. But there was this one time we we both gunned it from 10mph and I instantly left him behind about a car length.. but we just went up to 50.. I think the TLs 5 speed gives it an advantage with its smaller gearing so thats how my friend was able to pull on me.. But maybe Ill race him again when Im back in TN (Hopefully I can use SR20DEN's new Intake manifold..and not tell my friend...hehehe )

The more I see racing videos the more I realize how stupid it can be.. I just saw a video of someone racing and the loser (an integra) did a ricer fly-by and took out another car.... I will probably not race anyone anymore unless I go to a track or know that the person KNOWS WHEN TO STOP..... Some of you guys out there say that mag racing is BS.. well, I would rather have these idiot ricers do mag racing rather than race on the streets and get killed or kill someone else...
On to the gauges now... I have to figure out how to change the color....

hmm....teach me something about gearing, so..how we supposed to change our gear on auto? when we already on 40 or 50mph...we press break pedel and change gear to 2nd gear when we gonna race? will that hurt the tranny and engine? how if we are on a red light, and we are ready to take off? put the gear to 1st? and when do we change it to 2nd? and do we have to put in D? we changing gear by press break pedel and switch gear like we auto usually do? teach me plz......i dunno how to drive manual..my dad doesn't want me drive it and wouldn't teach me cuz he knows i'd race...so he got me an auto maxima instead of a manual one..

you said "The gauge housing has a clear plastic backing that reflects light into the gauge face." Maybe I was confused, but is that clear plastic loweing the amount of clolor displayed? So is that replaceable? If this is not what is causing the lighting issues then is the number template changable? It just seems like a lot of work.. do you think it makes more sense just to get new gauges?

Oxidizer2k: I don't know that there is anything out there to replace the clear plastic with. What I don't know is if the clear plastic isn't reflecting the light correctly, or if the stock overlay has a coating on it that cuts out other colors of light from projecting through, thereby reducing the visibility when using other colors. Maybe someone can order a different template from Import Intelligence and see if it allows the colors to project through.
I would assume that it's in the stock template and not in the clear reflector. I had tried some extremely bright UV LEDs that were narrow-beamed. While they lit up the numbers, I noticed that the bulb HAS to be a wide-beamed bulb. I've yet to find a 74 LED that is designed to project the most amount of light sideways, as most of them shoot it straight forward.
