whenever i need car info, i go to carpoint. well i decided to see if they had info on the tl-s(which they dont), only to find out that the maxima isn't on the list as a competitor against the tl!!(this is according to carpoint of course. the funny thing is that some of the cars found in the tl competitor list are also found in the maxima list, here are the links, see for yourself(some of these cars dont belong in the same category as the max or tl)

Well, the only two cars that are listed as competitors for both cars are the Olds Intrigue and the Pontiac GP. The Maxima is marketed as a mainstream midsize car, while the Acura TL is a "near-luxury" car. That's why the I30 is more properly its competitor.

I would say an i30 would be the more proper comparison for the TL.

You won't find many that agree with us but the only real difference in the competitor rankings is cost/badging. The TL does not raise my brow.

But with a Max you get the VQ right away. Go for an Accord you get a 3L @ 200HP. You want some juice you look at a TL @ the same price of a Max, you want more juice you look @ a -S at 3-7K above a Max.

You want a stick, and race -Ss.....

I would agree that the fit and finish of the Max is not on par with the Acura, but that VQ makes up for alot!
