WTF!! 3rd and 4th gear grinding

Is this something that normally happens with this car? I have a 2k2 with 44k.

Ahh yes, the dreaded 3rd gear grids strikes yet another 6-speed owner. Too bad you're past the 3/36 warranty. Just hope you won't need a new tranny.

Redline MT-90 fluid helps to soften the grinding, but it still pops up its ugly head from time to time. While I haven't used the Amsoil verison of the MT-90 fluid, I've heard that it is similar in results to the Redline MT-90.

FYI studman if you look through the warrenty book enough you will find that Nissan says that using any non-Nissan trans fluid voids the tranny warrenty. If they actual notice that you are using different fluid thats another story.

The manual can say what it wants to, but I've had 2 clutches and 1 tranny replaced because of defects... and every time it had MT-90 fluid in it... and every time it was under warranty.

The MT-90 did not cause the problems, as my 2 clutches were howling (there was a TSB for this) and the tranny synchros locked up in 6th gear when I had the tranny replaced.

Condition not found! Apparently it is normal for this transmission as this is what the dealer keeps telling me. Anyone know how to blow up a tranny so I can just get it replaced and be done with it?

Nope... but as soon as you find out let me know. The dealer is giving me the same runaround.
