Average cost of suspension installation?

Well my struts/shocks/springs will be here to day and I am trying to find a shop to put them on for me and every place I call says its gonna cost my $300-$400.

Is that about right for installs?

Or you can install them yourself and save the 300 bucks. All you need is a good set of tools and a buddy to help out. Plus its rad to do stuff on your own. Check out Housecor's website: http://www.innerbean.com/housecor/strut_install.html

just think, $300 bucks for more mods or beer or whatever...

Its alot of work, you still have to pay for a wheel alignment. I would stop being cheap and spend the extra and have a professional do it.

Dont pay anymore then $150. Trust me on this one The labor guide sez 5.9hrs for the job, but it doesnt take half of that. Its a typo if anything, thats why some shops sell the job for $300-400. Look around til you find a place that will do it for 150 or less.

It's not a matter of being cheap. I think everyone on here can afford to pay someone else to work on their car. It's a matter of doing something yourself and having the satisfaction of completing a project that you have never tried before. And besides, just because you pay someone to do something, that in no way makes them a professional. How many stories have you heard of people taking their car to someone and they ended up F'ing things up?

if you're gonna do it at home, just make sure its safe to drive by testing it slowly once you've finished. then the first place you go when its all done with should be to get an alignment done.

if a " Professional" going to install it .. it shouldnt take more than 3 hours.. at 85 bucks... total
100 most..
alightment is probably 60 bucks
so 160 most for install and alignment.

300 bucsk is way too much

Do it yourseld but pay for the alignment....

I did it myself and have never done this before. It took my 3 1/2 hours for front and rear not knowing what I was doing.
