Tranny help!!!
Tranny help!!!
Thanks to all involved in getting org backup!!
My mechanic just told me my tranny is gone. I was cruisin on sunday and i heard this loud sound, like there was metal draggin on the street. The car kicked out of gear...............i was able to get it back in gear and drove it a few blocks home......I sent it to my mechanic the next day and he just gave me the bad news.
Does anyone know of any good deals on used trannies, what are my options should I get a six speed? I would like to save as much as possible. Any point in the right direction will be appreciated.
BTW I have 2000 SE 5 speed

Maybe someone has a better place, but I would check the junk yards for any wrecks. Maybe there is a spare tranny you could buy. Also, there is a longer warranty for the powertrain. How many miles do you have?
If I was dragging my transvestite around, I would bet he/she would leave too. Expecially if you are passing him around to your mechanic friends. You can get used trannies at Times Square in NY.
Sorry, that was too easy. Try www.mypartshop.com, basically a online repositary of junkyards that you can get parts from. I picked up a stock rim for my 00' SE for $60 in mint condition. I just took a quick look and there are three online now (Transmissions for a 00 Max) just around the philly/NY area..
