Door Panel

hey, guys. ripped (well loosened about 9 stitches) the leather trim on my driver side door panel yesterday- for no other reason than im a complete idiot. anyhow, just called the dealership, and they're saying 500 just for the part (plus whatever install is)-- as they only sell the panel as one complete piece. is this outrageous? should i bring the car into the stealership, or just shop around here. i find hard to believe that 4 square feet of feaux leather can possibly be 500. any input would be appreciated.

I would see if you can find a leather repair shop that can do the work. I can't imagine it would cost that much to fix or replace. The price from the dealership sounds like a rip-off.
