this thread would make a good poll....

but the only thing that would suck is that you can only put 5 options in the poll, and i think that there are nine colors the max comes in. maybe someone can increase the # of options you can put in a poll?

I can't believe that nobody has said Sunlit Sand. What an awesome colour! Depending on the lighting, it looks like gold, silver, or titanium. Plus, it doesn't show dust or road film. My Acura was black. What an absolute pain in the butt. Looks awesome when clean, no doubt about that, but it only lasts for five minutes or your first trip to the corner store, whichever comes first.

Same here! And Yes, the 4th gens color does look different.

I've got grey lustre but if I could do it over I would go with sterling mist, darker colors are just too much work to keep clean...

I have read that White is the "safest" color, most easily seen at night. My car is white. I like sterling mist a lot. I prefered the green of the 4th gen, which was close to British Racing Green, to the dark green of the 5th gen.

Check Sig!

Black on Black! Requires many many washes to keep looking good.

My favourite colour is.......

Blue. I almost bought a 2K1 Majestic Blue AE but it was just a bit too expensive. Ended up with a Sherwood Green 2K SE with tan leather - thats a classic combo and looks great. The darker colours are definitely more work to keep clean but I like the way the rear lights blend in better.

when i first started looking at the new maxes i was interested in black so one night i went up there after hours at night and under the lights the black looked dirty clean so that turned me off to the black and when i seen that sterling mist color under the lights that was it..SOLD

Owned a '98 SE Super Black w/black leather. L-O-V-E-D that car! Loved the way it wrapped around me, loved the performance, loved the look. Something about it said "black-tie with performance to boot". Then I went to the dealer and something (stupid) inside my head said, "hey, get something different this time" so I got the Icelandic Pearl w/frost leather. Do I regret it? Probably won't once I get to spend some quality time in the driveway when the weather warms up. Then I'll begin to appreciate the "depth" of the paint (at least it looks deep) and the way the pearl comes through.

If I had to do it all over again, I would look at the Merlot. I was in too much of a hurry to get the AE before bothering to look for a Merlot (dealer didn't have one) and I'm beginning to wonder if it wouldn't be my favorite with a black interior.

In This Particular Order

1. Super Black. I'm very partial to black cars.
2. Merlot. This is a great color. Especially with the black interior.
4. The AE Blue Metallic
3. Sterling Mist. Only problem is that this color rarely looks silver to me.

While I'll agree that the Super Black looks very, very nice, I choose the presence of all colors ;-)

2002 SE, Glacier Pearl.

I like white cars. They're much cooler in the summer (a critical factor here in central NC) and they're easier to keep clean.

If I hit a lottery, maybe I'll get a black one, after I hire someone to wash it every day ;-)

The dark blue (majestic blue?) looks great, the merlot looks great.

The Sterling Mist, though (at least in the 2002) is my absolute least favorite. It looked like shiny primer to me.

my first choice was Sterling Mist but then I started noticing so many silver cars around, then I decided on Super Black but couldn't find a 6 speed w/sunroof, got a Majestic Blue and haven't regretted it. I've had people pull around to my pump at the gas station to comment on the color. My friend just got a blue Lexus and it is a really bright blue, the majestic is more subtle. I liked all of the 2002 colors except the tungsten blue.

Either Sterling Mist with Black leather, or Black on Black. Either is awesome.

Black or white don't complicate it.
For me it's white.

Black is the signature colour of Maximas but everytime I wash my AE Majestic Blue I fall more in love with it each time. Unfortunately the Majestic Blue requires as much work as the black to keep looking nice. Still have to go with it though.

I like all the Max colors a lot, there is really not one that I would say I could not have. But I like Majestic Blue & Gray Lustre the very best and Sterling Mist & Sundlit Sand the least.
