Projector Angel Eyes Installed

Just installed these today. And also installed new foglights (actually off of an xterra that was in a junkyard) But they are like brand new.

Install was easy. Its plug and play for everything but the angel eyes. Theres (2) 10mm bolts holding the headlight in, disconnect the light sockets, then remove the bolts, and the headlight will pull out. There is a metal rod that sticks into a hole (in the fender side) to help align the headlight, the rod just pulls out. I suggest removing the battery to make it easy to wire the angel eyes in, on the drivers side. The passanger side is easier. Plug the factory headlight harness into the harness on the new headlight. Plug the factory signal harness into the plug on the new headlight. You will need to take the siganel bulb out with the socket its in. Just simply unplug it. You see what im talking about when you do it. so plug those in, bolt the headlights back make sure you get the rod back in the hole. Trick for getting the lights in, is to take the cover off of the back of the headlight, the one for the projector bulb. And also put the headlight in by the grill side first, then you can play with it and get the rod in past the fender. And also they are two(2) white clips that hold the factory headlight in place from the bottom, You cant miss them, you need to break the top of those clips off to get the new lights in. I tried and tried to get them in then i realized they were what was giving me trouble.
Now onto the angel eyes, There will be (2) sets of wires. Red and white on one and Red and white on the other one. Those wires will already be stripped for you. Twist the red ones together then the white ones together. Then splice those wires into the factory blinker light harness. Red wires to the red (positive) and the white wires go to the black wire(negative). Same on both sides. Splice them in how ever you chose (connectors, electrical tape whatever you like) I used connectors. Put the battery back in, and turn them on. Hope this helps you

You need to mod it if you want to use HIDs.

To be able to get HID performance, you need to replace low beam projector unit with one that are ment for D2S bulb. Below is a similar project done on a Nissan 240SX, which comes with projector low beams from factory:

Left: early BMW E46 OEM HID projectors
Right: Original halogen Nissan projectors

I got them from ebay. The seller is Procarparts.com, I have purchased a few items from them, and have no problems at all. They have been running these lights on ebay for 219.50 pluss 34.99 shipping. I paid a total of 254.99.

Yep, the angel eyes around the high beams are larger than the low beam angel eyes.

There not too noticable during the day. I would take a pic but i disconnected the angel eyes. Long story short. The day after i put the projectors on, a school bus hit the drivers side light with its rear bumper, putting a six inch scratch on the lense and also causing the wires for the one of the angel eyes on the drivers side to get pinched, and it blew the lights for the that angel eye. So i have them all disconnected until my new set comes in, which is being paid for by the bus co.

I love the way they look, but I like having HID's lights better. It seems like its a big pain in the azz to have those those projector lights and still wanting to have HID bulbs...meaning you cant have the best of both worlds....

Those headlights look hot on your car. I never really liked them at first, but it looks clean on your max.

If a group deal becomes available I would definately be interested. I'd probably be the first order. I've been waiting for projector HIDS DDE lights.

Wider and deeper beam pattern. But it uses a basic H4 bulb.

Why do I remember something about projectors and H3 bulbs? I'm lost.. In any case, the trick is to have both projectors and HIDs, not to just get either.

Everyone tells me these cheapo projectors 1.) Fit poorly and 2.) Have a f*ed up beam pattern.

Go drive a G35 and then we'll talk about a poor beam pattern. And the G has HIDs...

My only hope is that Umnitza comes up with these new projectors in the near future.

Like I said, this is what I've been told by about 3 different people who actually have these lights. Not something I would feel comfortable selling...

Let's put it this way, the JDM halogen projector look way much better than the stocker headlight on the 2k-2k1 but for 250$ you cant expect to have HID, otherwise you just need to spend 1200$ and get the 2k2 HID headlight. I would think that retrofitting a HID projector in the JDM's one can probably give a good result too.

Cheers
