I'm going to lower - there's no question - my 2002 SE. Do I have to get the shocks as well or can I wait and just put on the springs (progress). Car has 60k. I think I know what the answer already is but I'd like to hear otherwise...

 

You can run just springs for a few months, but not in the long run. The stock struts will eventually blow. See my site for more info.
