How do you adjust the idle on a 2000 ??? i'm at 600 when warmed up and should be around 750 i thought...thanks

 

Idle cannot be adjusted manually, it's controlled by the ECU, possibly you might be able to adjust it with a CONSULT but I've never tried this personally.

 

are u sure...don't you just tighten a screw or something??

 

my warmed up idle has always been around .635 rpms.
I dont think our cars have a screw type idle adjust. its controlled by ecu i think

 

Do you ever stall out or have a choppy idle? If not then your rpms might be correct, at least i would think so.

 

AFAIK there is no screw to tighten, idle speed is controlled by the idle air control valve/idle air bypass, which is an electric device/motor that allows air to enter the engine when the throttle is at 0%. Federal emissions won't allow hand-adjusted (screw-type)idle or mixture settings on anything made since 1978.

Try the Idle Air Volume reset procedure (you'll have to search for it, I don't have a link) since you've already done an ECU reset. My 2k2 idles at 750-775 in drive (auto.) 600 does not seem excessively low for your MT, and 600 should be enough for your engine to run ok and the alt. to charge unless you have UDPs.
