I've had bridgestone SO-3's which offer excellent wet/dry traction with reduced hydroplaning ($800 set). Now I have the NITTO- 555 ($600 set) and they are a good tire, and about $200 less for a set the the SO-3's, but not as good wet traction or hydroplaning. The SO-3's is my favorite tire, the only bad thing I saw with them was the solid center band in the middle of the tire made grooves in the road pull my car everywhere.

Judging by the tread, I think I have about 2000 miles left, unless you consider all weather situations, and these things haven't been stable in the rain for a long time...

oh, and I have finally decide what I am replacing them with; Toyo Proxes 4 all season 235/45WR17's. Originally I was going to go with 245/45's, but I heard that some people were having trouble with the 245's on the OE wheels.

about 5000, 1000-3000 easy break in....then i got mad at the tires and ripped them off

WTHELL is wrong with you people. If you rode more than 30k on your RE92's with this fat heavy car, in bad weather, your CRAZY. Or you drive like a grandpa/grandma.

I got 33k miles out of them before one of the tire side wall is cracking and about to separate. Thank god I got the Kuhmos on them now instead of getting a Bridgestone tire.

^^^umm...id rather be rolling on bridgestone tires than a kuhmos. But i cant say that or id be stooping to your stereotypical words.

If your calling Bridgestone Pole position so-3 so-2 or even RE750s 730s, So1. Crappy tires cuz you did mention bridgestone. Your a fool and a tool.

Yeah kuhmo makes crappy tires, and honestly I belive they make more crappy tires than high end ones.

What do you guys that only got like 25K on your stockers never get your tires balanced and rotated? Do that every other oil change reduces the wear.

All Goodyear stores off lifetime balance and rotation for $44 on all 4 tires. Maybe some of guys should look into doing this.

I do rotate my tires every other oil change. Might be the hard launches, but damn!

I changed the stock potenzas at 26k miles. It was raining alot, and I was tired of slipping the tires almost everytime , I shifted gears. The falkens are a 100% better in the rain,

The HP4's are like the highest rated tires on tirerack.

I've got 29K miles now, I had them rotated every 6-7K miles and have about 10-15K left probably. The trick to driving in the rain: slow down.

The trick to driving in the rain is to NOT do it. Brand new those things scared the crap outta me. You can feel the steering wheel "lighten up" with each puddle you go through. Definately too dangerous in my book. I don't know how I was able to keep them on for so long...

This goes to show how opinions and experiences will vary according to the person you ask.

I've kept mine rotated and not laid rubber down in a cloud of smoke at every light and I have a lot of tread left at 49.5k miles. I plan on replacing them at 50-55k. Yes, they suck bad in the rain and hydroplane very easily. I can't wait for real wet traction!

26k but, I should have gotten rid of them long time ago... Those tires are scary in the wet!!! Too many close calls... Got me Falken ZE-512 last weekend. Very nice tires. Just waiting for some rain or snow to see what are they capable of.

I've heard they don't make a 225/50ZR17 in the Proxes 4. Did you go with the 235/45s? I've been told that is a little bit too wide for a 17x7 wheel. Have you been told different? I'm being told to go with a 17x7.5 if I want to go with a 235.

thanks
