Some wheel questions

I had one of my tires decide to disintegrate the other day and it just so happened to be on the same wheel that is bent because a box wrench went through at 40+mph a few years ago. So... it's about time to replace all four wheels and tires and I wanted to ask for some input.

I'm looking to get Axis Spider wheels in a 18x8 or 19x8 setup. What I want to know is if anyone could recommend a good tire for this setup. I would really like to go wider than 235 but the cost and selection is pretty sparse in the 255 range. What amazes me is the 255/35 is around $169 a tire and the 255/40 starts at $249. Any recommendations??

Do you have more pictures? I really think they'll look good on my grey car but I'm still deciding between some other wheels including the Konig Troubles, X Power Mirage and R1 Racing Spec 9.
