Assorted questions.

Hola. We're not going to be ready to buy a Maxima until December, but we're doing our research now. A few questions:
1. How hard is it to find a used 02-03 SE with leather and Bose? We both really like the GLE except it looks a lot less sporty (wheels, spoiler, suspension, etc.)
We want it with 20k or less.
2. I saw the TSB sticky. What exactly is a TSB? I know what it stands for, but...if there is a TSB issued for an issue, is that issue covered under warranty 100% of the time?
3. Is there a supercharger on the market for 02-03 Maximas? If so, how much HP does it add, and how much does it cost?
Thanks.
Mark

1. Shouldn't be that hard...Bose and leather come in the same package as I recall. It only gets difficult if you're trying to find the 6-speed. Autos are all over the place. In addition to looking less sporty, the GLE has a softer suspension than the "sport-tuned" SE suspension...for less than 20k miles you probably will be looking for a 2k3....

2. technical safety bulletin....I think most of them are covered under warranty, but not all of them.

3. not that I know of. Stillen makes one for the 00-01's that adds about 80 hp as I recall. It's about $4K+. You can bump the 02-03 VQ35 up to over 300hp with other mods and no S/C though (headers, exhaust, etc....) and for alot less $$.

good luck.

Cool. We're looking for an auto anyway. Cosmetically, I won't be modding the car much...I think it is one of the few sedans that looks stunning right out of the box! I will, however, be tinkering with performance mods that don't void my warranty.
Speaking of warranty, do you all recommend buying an extended warranty? Additionally, do extended warranties only cover powertrain, or are they bumper to bumper?

I think you can buy either.

As far as options for the car, not sure Bose and leather come in the same package. You can get Bose with cloth (and manual climate control instead of auto) and then add aftermarket leather. It's all up to you. Just as a FYI, a lot of GLEs come with spoiler, but you can always add one for less than $200.

yeah i think I misspoke....If you get leather, Bose automatically comes in that package. But you CAN get Bose without leather.

As to warranty - I paid about $1K for the 100,000 mile/4 year extended warranty. To date in one year I've had the following done under the warranty for free:
1. bad strut replaced.
2. clutch master cylinder replaced - and they also replaced all 4 of my floormats with new ones, since clutch fluid had leaked on my driver's side one....
3. warped rotors replaced once (before I changed to my brake kit)....

so...that's about $300-400 worth of stuff so far...if I use the warranty as much int he next 3 years, I'll consider it well worth buying.

btw it's "bumper to bumper" but there are several "wear and tear" items it doesnt' cover......
