Traction control
Traction control
Anyone know how the traction control works in the 2000-2001 maximas. I heard that when wheels are slipping , computer turns off some of the cylinders.
I noticed that when it is turned off car accelerates much better without any lag in power. Also is there a permanent way to turn off this system completly w out having that tcs light lit in the dash?

TCS only activates when wheel spin is detected. Your engine does not perform any differently with it off. When wheel spin is detected the engine throttles down until grip is established, then the engine is returned to normal power, if wheel spin is detected again, the process repeats.

Either way, with my TCS off I can only get a good chirp from a dead stop on dry tar...
....I wonder what headers/intake/cat-back would do to fix that.
