Anyone know what this is??????

I have a 2000 max, and i was looking at the engine bay ye4sterday, and under the battery i noticed this white container, or tank of some sort. but there is nothing in it, and looks like there is a space where a cap would go but its just a hole. anyone know what this container is for??

its right uner the battery.

I've heard that it serves a dual purpose: As an intake resonator and a small air reserve when you punch it, since the engine literally breathes through a straw with the stock intake

its junk in the trunk, take it off and throw it out. its only a 2k thing, they removed in in 2k1... serves no purpose... if u get a cai, u need to remove the white thing... ask larrio for a detailed explanation

You could replace it with a matching size piece of pvc, make it into a cold air intake
