Maxima going to storage..... for a while

I just bought my wife an 05 Camry, nice color Red Salsa, so my Max is going to storage for a while.,. It has 78K miles on it so I think is time to stop my baby. Now I will work on it during the weekends and mod the heck out of it. Any suggestion on how to keep everything working without having to use it.

Thanks

Drive it at least once a week, if that isn't possible, keep it on jack stands to keep the tires from getting flatspots from just sitting in one place. Also start it up when ever you can. Oil and other fluids will, in time, completely run off the metal it is to protect. Other than that it should be fine.

out of curiousity , how long is a while? the reason i ask is that gasoline goes bad after a while sitting.

well actually for around six months or more depending... I'll be using it every other wek just tio keep everything working. I'l be driving a Corolla, my company is moving from downtown Orlando to Lake Mary and it will add 22 more miles to my daily comute.. and it will get it to close 100 both ways... so I don't think so I love my girl...an enough is enough.......

Driving it about once a week should be fine. You're only storing it for 6 months, so not that big of a deal.

You should be fine. If you just let it sit for 6 months you'd have to worry about seals and gaskets drying out. Make sure you run the air conditioner when you drive or those seals can go out fast.

Well the car has 78k miles in 3 years.... that's a lot of miles for a 3 year old car. As soon as it hits the 80 mark that's it the value of the car will drop dramatically.... so I'm trying to stop the aging of my car for a while... I don't know maybe one morning I'll take it to Infinity showroom and change it for a G35...... Just kidding... I love my car........she is my girl......

I think we're all somewhat confused. BTW, there is no magical threshold at the 80k mark where suddenly a car's resale drops more than at any other mileage point. A car with 81k won't sell for much less than one with 79k.

The only magical threshold for a car's value drop is the moment you purchase it new.

As for the hating on the Camry, Maximas should be so fortunate as to have Camry quality and resale. It's not a sport sedan but it's built like a tank, even though it's built in Kentucky.

I still don't understand why you just don't drive it yourself. I mean, I would rather be driving a maxima over a corolla, seriously. So what how many miles it has, just take excellent care of it. Or, you could just use the corolla to get to and from work, and the max all other times you need to go somewhere.

I still be using it every once in a while.... the miles I will be puting to the car will be around 3K miles per month, which trnslates to 36k per year,,, let me think that's tooooooo much, that' the only reason why, I love my girl, but I don't want to kill it.....
