Transmission Oil

I am about to purchase a B&M short shifter for my 2000 maxima, and change my transmission fluid. I wanted to know which transmission fluid I should use?

Also, do I have to changed the transmission fluid earlier than usual once I have the new shifter in place? In other words, after I get the new shifter installed should I use a cheap brand transmission during the first few thousand miles and then switch to a better transmission oil?

redline mt90, it used it its good stuff and its the only gl4 specific transmission fluid i could find other than coastal(very crappy stuff). Make sure you use only gl4 only,
not gl5, even though it says it will work for gl4. Anything gl5 specific will eat away at your synchros. For more info go to

hope this helps
OM if you have any other questions that you dont want to post.
