Excessive Interior Noise

I have a 2k GXE and no matter what tires I run, the noise is from the tires is too loud. I began really noticing this after the first set of replacement tires...it's didn't seem to be too loud with the original tires but maybe I just didn't notice then. My question is there something I can put in the wheel wells to deaden the sound or can someone suggest the best tires that don't compromise handling. Thanks.

Have you had the car aligned? I noticed a more of tire/road noise when I had lowering springs (no alignment after springs). I have recently raised the car back to stock and the excessive road noise from the tires magically went away. Could be a number things, though. BTW, I have noticed that Maximas seem to transmit more road noise and general vibrations back to the driver than other cars in this catagory.

yep, it's not just you...we have a noisy car...oh well. as long as the engine and bose drown out the road noise....

but here's one thing I did to help deaden road noise:

You can try to spray some GOOD undercoating in the wheel wells and anywhere where painted metal shows in the unibody.

Be careful NOT to cover up any drainage holes or hoses used to drain the air conditioner.

Check that your window seals are aligned properly...especially the troublesome quarter window in the rear doors.

thanks

Try some sound deadening in the doors especially the rear doors.

I can't stand the noise either man. Thats why I'm trying liquid deadener on the doors and extra foam material on the door trim panels. The deadener is on the doors already, but the panels are still off. Believe me, after a couple weeks of driving around with no panels, I can say they absorb a significant amount of noise when in place.
The tire whine thats so annoying is mostly high frequency noise. Thats why I was thinking some type of foam in right places might make a difference.

Have someone take a look at the bearings, a lot of people seem to mistake the drone with either something produced by exhaust or tires. I had the same problem in my car, dealer finally ended up replacing the bearings and the noise was gone.
