Clutch Question...

my clutch is slipping pretty bad. is there anything to check myself
before taking it to the shop to get it replaced?

oh, btw, what is the life expectancy of an original clutch? (spirited driving)

Not sure on question 1, but I think no.

Question 2 is totally impossible to answer. Driving in a "spirited fashion" will lower its lifespan, but more important is how good you are. If you're always matching RPM and not grinding the clutch out when you start the car from a stop, you'll last a long time. If you suck ***** at driving, spending 5 seconds of burning clutch to start from a stop, or you're one of those people who actually use the clutch to hold it on a hill, it won't last long. I know a guy who killed the clutch on his corolla at 30k because the guy sucked *** at driving!

thanks skoorb. i'm pretty sure the gal who owned the car before me wasn't the greatest driver.
