Where is the Cheapest place to Buy an Unorthodox underdrive pulley? and how much do they go for with the belt? How are the performance gains, and how hard is the installs on an automatic?

I got the one from SWA for 125 shipped from the Grou Deals forum. Just call them and they will hook you up. It weighs .9 pounds and the stock one weighs over 5 lbs. You will get an increase of about 3-4 maybe 5 HP over the entire powerband. The unorthodox comes with belts but is like 200 ish. I couldnt tell you what the install is like since I will pay someone to do it for me!

 

The pulley has a busing that works with the front crankshaft oil seal. The UR is a great pulley and they pay special attention to the all important bushing. Beware of other brands. I bought a UR 'blem" for under $100 (slight flaw in the anodizing).
The install is very easy except for getting the bolt loose on an auto tran car. A 1/2 air impact did the job for me. The rest of it is easy. Oh one of the belt tighteners is a little tricky until you figure it out

I have the Unorthodox pulley on my 2k2 GLE (auto). It makes a difference in accleration through 1st gear. After that, the engine doesnt rev as quickly, and the pulley doesnt make as much difference (due to the changing inertia and whatnot). But basically, ya, it'll help ya get thru 1st gear (probly 1st and 2nd on the 6 speed) faster, as I've proved at the drag strip. Also, you'll notice the A/C no longer bogs down the engine. That's my personal favorite advantage to the pulley, especially when I'm haulin 3 other people around wtih me in the 90 degree summer heat, ya know? Hope this helps ya!
