I had a warping issue, a bit different than yours. Someone at a gas station closed my door way too hard and it bent/warped the door. I had a problem opening the door and had to rip the carpeting out from the back in order to stick my hand into the door from behind the trunk. I managed to bend the door back into an ok position, so I pops open now. I took it to Nissan and asked how much for a new door, I think they said nearly $100. :\ I laughed and left.

Mine was warped from the factory. It stuck out from the fender oddly. I kept trying to push it back in until one day part of the hinge broke. Now I have more flexiblity to move it around and line up with the fender better but it is a little wobbly. I was going to "test drive" another Majestic blue Maxima and swap the door off of it.

Some guy in the AF forum had a similar problem, His gas door became increasingly harder and harder to open, eventually, the hinge warped and the door stuck out. He brought it back to the dealer who said he should have been regularly oiling the door, and they would not cover it... I laughed at him.

WD-40 works great to keep the door moving freely. Unfortunately for me, after an accident I had the body shop painted the left rear fender. Well they decided to paint the inside of the gas door as well. Now there is a bunch of paint that is in the hinge making the door impossible to pop open. I have to push really hard on the left side where the hinge is to open it. BLAH....
