Dyno before the Cattman headers

Hey guys. I am doing a dyno of my car of before and after the headers. Here is a pic of the dyno charts with my 3 runs on it. ***56k Warning***

My car is stock 6 speed except these: Cattman Y-pipe (for sale as soon as the headers go on used only a month) UR UDP, Injen intake w/ K&N.

After I get the headers installed and the car dynoed i'll post pics of it. I'm installing the headers the weekend after labor day.

Yeah I know. Mine is running a little more lean. Dont exactly know why but it's not so much that it will hurt the car and if memory serves me right, running lean gets you more power.

Actually, I think you should have more HP.... This dyno is my car with ALL stock except for a Frankencar Intake with K&N.

The shop that did the Dyno works on 1000HP Lexus GS400s so I know they know how to run a dyno. I was actually suprised to see your numbers lower than mine.

The other thought is that my car is pulling harder because it is actually getting more fuel???

Yeah those #s are kind of low....I've seen other 6spd dyno charts with 220fwhp+ that have the same mods as you.

Yes, it was corrected. As I said, this shop charges more for their work than our cars are even worth. It was at a dyno day a year or so ago.

That is 224 SAE

Further proves that comparing dynos is pointless...

not totally. Comparing a dyno before and after work is accurate. It is a good measure of how much power you pickup.

I agree comparing car to car is not always good, as each car is pretty much different. Dynos don't lie, but we all know Nissan did.

Oops, let me restate that: "Comparing #'s from different dynos is pointless."

Notice I didn't throw up my dyno for the HP first. I agree with you.

I do find it interesting how Nissan can have the same model of car with such a huge difference in the A/F readings.

With my current mod's, what range should I dyno for hp and torque and what would I expect to run at the track?

I've been keeping up with all of the posts, so I understand that there can be a significant variance, but while I'm wating to find a dyno shop closer than 50 miles away, I'm trying to get some ideas.

I have an Autotragic.

A trip to Lebanon Valley drag strip is in the works as well.

Thanks,

Trex

you should try running your car at the strip before and after headers as well, although finding nights with similar weather is hard... your trap speeds will be a good indication of the power your car is making tho.

Yeah, both hp and tq seem low for those mods but it could be dyno error. I'd be more concerned with the a/f than anything else. I had similar mods with a similar a/f. I was so lean that I decided to back to the stock airbox. No money to re-dyno. I think Injen can sometimes make the VQ35 run lean. FWIW, I wonder if the lean condition over time could have contributed to my rear precat going bad.

Hopefully, the headers will richen you up a bit plus you'll lose the precats anyway.

Yeah, it's the Injen Intake it can't keepup with the VQ35...The intake tube is to long to the point of being restrictive at higher rpms and @ higher gears.....running the upper half of the Injen will enrichen the A/F mixture alone.....just for your info
