Big Problem!!!!!!!!!!!
ARGGGG!!!!!!!! my car is gonna cost about 1700 to fix at nissan dealer... and im sending it there cause I want full repairs damn thing is driving me crazy... just one really big question. I have the Courtesy Parts Short Throw shifter in there. When they fix they car will they report that there is a STS in there and they wont fix it or put it in the report at anytime? BTW how do i fix the notchyness in a STS so that it slides just like the factory Shifter?
BTW my car lol the intake litterally disconnected itself from the car, i lose all take off power and i completely lose hp at 3k rpm. Take of is bumpy.. and i have the worst of the worst retard timing and some other retarted things with the 00 max lol. Hopefully when i send it in for complete repairs i wont be regretting my money.

when i first got the car i always had a problem of losing hp after 4k rpms. Just now it got worse. One day on my way to school some retard goes into the left lane WHERE U CAN ONLY MAKE A LEFT TURN and cuts into the next lane to go str8. At the same time i was going into the same lane and i was in first gear. I quickly drop into second so that my rev could go down substantially and lose power. Then i release my foot from the clutch and when i get to the stop light. I take off and there is NO POWER!!!!!!! its just a dead beat piece of ****. a 2k1 altima took me 4 car lenghts from start to finish.

Does your car "hesitate/stutter"? My car (2002) is doing this (typically only after about 30 min. of traffic driving) and they couldn't get it to replicate it at the shop and couldn't find anything wrong. My car also had the disconnected intake hose which the shop found and they thought that was my problem. Turns out, it wasn't...Let me know what they're saying is your problem.

All I can suggest is the two most common problems with the '00s , Bad MAF and Bad coils, both of which can give serious performance problems.
Do you have the Check Engine light on? If so pull the code at Autozone for free. If its the coils, you can change your self for $300. If the MAF, $90. I did both on my 2000 I30 and car runs better than when it was new. And I'm a novice at car repairs.

Don't know why you are worried about your STS..you are paying for repairs; It's not warranty work I'm assuming if it's costing you 1700 dollars to fix..you could roll into the dealership with a full turbo and nitrous setup and it doesn't matter. No warranty to void.

You worry too much about Nissan and what they report. Honestly, since the car is out of warranty, they couldnt give a crap. The notchiness in the STS is from the tranny fluid and the install tightness. Get some redline MT-90 and have them take a look at the bolt tightness and u will be ok. As for his MAF, it was fine, we tested it. I seriously think its a plug/coil issue in that it feels like the sparks are being blown out past 3000 rpm. That causes the engine to go flat and vibrate like all hell.
