Damn, some of you get some really ****ty mileage. With a 70/30 City/Highway split, mildly aggressive, I average near 350 a tank. On any long trip on the highway I will average 450-500 before a fill up (roughly 16 gallons)

some of us, myself included, just can't seem to keep their right foot out of the throttle.

i believe its not our driving....its just city mileage sucks big time....because i know for a fact if i went ALL highway, i would get good mileage....i can just tell becuz i think one time i did like 65% city and 35% highway and my mileage went up by quite a few....so i'm pretty sure we can all pull good numbers if we all drove highway....but i know not all of us drive highway so ehh..

I got 19.5/25 city/high way milage. If I remember correctly, my city milage went up from 18 to 19.5 after replacing air filter and reseting ECU. It worths to try if your want to increase milage. However, be nice to your maxima may help much more...

my air filter is only 2k miles old....its OEM nissan one too with the GAB mod......

and i don't think babying yer car will help mileage that much.....i've tried it once and my mpg wasn't all that different.....maybe if i baby it for a long time my ECU will start to re-learn and adjust my fuel to get better mileage....but thats kinda lame.....i wanna feel the power of the car but i also know when to stop......

wow, i thought my mileage wasn't very good, but now i'm kinda happy. it's been getting 19 or a little more in the city and i got 24.5 on an interstate trip the other day. i get on the gas occasionally when passing people and such, but i try to keep off the pedal and save my fuel. btw, those are the actual mileage numbers, not the trip meter. hopefully a future intake/exhaust will help those numbers.

I drove 2800 miles roundtrip from MO to NY and averaged 29.9 mpg. In town I average 20 mpg in the summer, winter driving it drops off to 17-18 mpg. I have always burned 91 octane. I have replaced one O2 sensor so far and have not done any modifications. This is my first rice burner and I would buy another Maxima.

I'm 150 mi/day all highway and I get about 420 - 440 on a tankful. But then I'm not blazing along (70 - 73 mph) cuz the cops are pretty tight on my stretch of hwy.

I got 31MPG in a 2000 5sp this last weekend on a trip where I averaged 65mph.

I usually get 23-24 MPG in 60%fwy/40%city driving aggresively. If I take it easy, I get like 25-26. I've been using Chevron gas only for the last month or so. When I used Sams Club gas I would get like 20-22 when I drive aggresively.

Heard news the other day that there will be no "winter" gas where I live this winter. With winter gas, I would get 17-20mpg.

I drove 200 miles on a full tank of gas and I live in NYC which is all stop/go traffic.
200/15.5 = 12.9 mpg.
I have all brand new coils/spark plugs/4 O2 Sensors.

WTH is wrong with my car?

First, run the right oil weight, 5w-30, that may help some and you were in city and flooring it......

Try highway trip and see what happens

I live in chicago, so I have a pretty good idea about city traffic.

My latest tank is on 330 miles, light just came on. The first 70-80 miles of that tank were all highway, after that the rest is all city driving. We'll see how many gallons I need.
