Springs and struts....
You're in NYC...you're definitely not gonna' want a super low ride, so Maxspeeds would be your best bet. As far as struts, the best are arguably Tokico struts. You can either get the non-adjustable Tokico Blues for $150 or the adjustable Tokico Illuminas for $400.

Personally, I am leaning toward the H&R springs - nice ride, good handling, but NOT as low as the others. As for STB, I recommend getting the cheapest one which still looks accpetable to you.
