Power seat problem

Ok so here's the problem...

The driver's side power seat is messed up. It won't move front or back anymore but it will move in all other directions. Does anyone have any idea about what the problem is?

Thanks!

haha this is what? the 20th time someone posts the same question?
anyway.. there's a TSB out for problem you are having...
i had exactly same thing you are having.. as i found out myself. i took the motor apart.and there's theirs a part inside made out of plastic. basically the teeth broke off.. so now the seat wont move forward or back.
its easier for nissan to replace the motor then to take it apart and replace this tiny part.
BTW. nissan quoted me 290 for a new motor and 180 for labor. (even thou i have GOLD premium super dooper 75/75 .. whatever it is warranty.) i found a motor on ebay for 80 bucks ...and replaced mine with it.

ask the dealer all the questions prior to giving your car, so you won't get screwed....thats if you are planning on going to the dealer.

i think all 2k owners either have or will have this prob, i have the same symptoms as you, and to my understanding te motor goes kaput, if you look around im sure someone will be selling just a motor for like 50 bux.

So to replace the motor, will I have to take the seat out of the car? And sorry if this has been asked before...kinda hard to search when the search function is not working.

Ok...is there some trick to getting the seat out? I can get to the bolts that hold it in in 3 of 4 places but the side of the seat is in the way of getting to the last bolt. Also does anyone have the diagram of the seat so I will know which motor is which? Thanks for all the help!

yea the last bolt (back left one i assume?) was a pain in the ***. what i had to do was push the seat forward really hard while pressing the button on the seat and my luck it budged forward just enough to get to the bolt.
see if that works.
if you find the TSB .. on it there is a diagram on how to take the seat out and how to get to the motor.

I talked to a dealership and the guy i spoke to said they dont sell the motors seperate but because he took my vin and saw that this problem was a growing issue, he gave me a part number which is alot cheaper to buy than buying the whol track assembly. ill get u guys the part numbers if ur interested.

A part number on this would be great. How much did you have to pay for the part?

Goldmax a question. If you have the super duper 75/75 why were they going to charge you for the motor replacement. I thought that all of those items were covered under the extended warranties. Did he offer a reason?

YEA, his explanation was .. that they found a dime stuck inside the track which burned out the motor. (BullSh*t)..... so since its "my fault" this happened they refused to cover it.

Thanks for that tip. I purchased the 100K super duper specifically to take care of all of the electrical motors & heated seats, etc on my 03SE as I've paid quite a bit of $$ over the years on my 91 keeping things working I figured with all of the do-dads on the 03 I'll get my money's worth out of the extended warranty.

anytime..
but so far i dont think the warranty is worth it ... since they wont cover stuff like this. they are if they think i would lay over 400 if i paid so much for the warranty..

fixed the power seat

I got a chance to look at my broken power drivers seat over the weekend. The problom was it would not move forwand or back, but it did move up and down. I took it out [4 bolts pretty easy] it is all 12 volts and the harness from the car is pretty long, I jumped it to the motor and it worked. O.k so its not the motor. I then took out the switch harness on the side of the seat. Took it apart and their was the problom, a short in the board. I soldered in a jumper wire, and it works. total cost 00.00 time 4 hours.
