Y-pipe power increase???

Finally installed the Y-pipe I got form Warpspeed group deal months ago yesterday. The only other mod I have is the CAI. My question is where is the power increase I was supposed to get. Install went fine and there are no CEL's. All the talk about best bang for the buck mod being the Y-pipe and except for a very minimal lower rpm difference I don't see the gain. Just wondering if I was the only one with this...

reset your ECU and give it a couple days. your car is still performing like it did before. let your car get used to the mod and you will feel it

Then how come some people install it, take the car for a run around the block and hop on the org to report gains? How long does a car need to get used to it? Now another guy complaining he lost power with a CAI... it turns out that some mods are but worthless...

Should you decide to keep the y, get a hi flow cat and a b too. A y by itself isn't supposed to make that big of a difference.

I may be wrong, but from what i know you are supposed to start from the end of the exhaust (muffler, not taht u gain any hp from a muffler) to get the dynoed gains...

i guess every car is diffirent then it took mine a few days. i did notice a little diffirence right away but the big gains only appereared later

and i disagree..the y does make a diffirence. its the single best mod that can be done to a 3.0 5th gen. granted an intake and catback would add to it..but by itself, it still improves performance ALOT

Power appears after 2500 to 3000 rpm. It pulls really nice in third gear though. Maybe a broken VIAS?

^^Or a faulty coil-pack or a combination of both. You should be able to feel the Y-pipe, if not right away, a couple miles down the road. The gains should be everywhere in the rev range, more so after VI switchover.
