Intake how to w/, pics ?

I just got my Berk intake w/ Apexi filter. And was wondering if anyone had some pics. of install.

It came w/ pretty detailed directions but I am a total noob and would feel better w/ pics too.

Thanks, Mike

suggest an install meet in your area and learn from hands on experience. That is the best way IMO.

i think i'm gonna pick one up. The Apexi one though. I hear lots of good things regarding the Apexi and I don't want to have problems oiling the K&N one.

Yes I did get it through the Berk GD.
I am pretty sattisfied w/ it.
I installed it about an hour ago.
It went very easy and is a good fit.
Sounds real nice w/ Apexi filter.
I have yet to go out and open her up.

Same here, but I have the K&N filter and the midpipe... the directions that it came with were more than enough to see me through the installation, even despite me being the newbie that I am...

Just to share the experience... it took me a lil over an hour to install... added some rubber washers here and there to reduce vibration to the MAF... I did have to bend the inner silicone coupler at the throttle body a lil to secure the bracket, and so the midpipe isn't exactly a straight line with the throttle body... its like 5 degs off... but I just made sure those fasteners were real tight. Is this gonna be a problem down the road?

I'll check it periodically to make sure there is no leakage. I'm thinking of removing the inner coupler and replacing it with the stock accordion hose though... seems that one fit better cuz it can bend, and it probably absorbs more vibration from the engine too. Although, the hose might be too long for my setup with the midpipe. Lemme know if ya'll have any comments/suggestions... thanks.

PuppetMaster,
No I bent the bracket that the MAF adapter hangs from. It's all in a straight line.
However I have had a chance to road test it and now I have big problems.

The intake sounds great But I have no power now.
If I slowly accelerate it will shift through all gears. ( automatic ). But If I stomp on it from a dead stop She chokes out @ 3500 rpm's. If I am rolling at low speeds and get on it it's like I'm in mud.
I read some where that I have to leave the negative off the batt. overnight so I'm gonna try that.

I started a new HELP thread follow it here:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=338422

Do you have any suggestions.
Thanks for all your help. Mike

Can you provide your source which shows that by adding such an intake design as the Berk, you lose acceleration? By adding the Berk ( almost a year ago...no MAF issues BTW ) I have felt no loss of power on bottom end. I have had mine off and on a few times due to other warranty work that I was having performed and from that I have a pretty good base for a comparrison between having the intake on vise the OEM air box. My car pulls hard throughout the entire rpm range with the intake installed, so I guess blanket statements like this need some clarification.

My source is me in the car. The car will not get out of it's own way. It is such a big change that it is very obvious.
By no means am I saying that this is caused by the Berk. It just happened after the install. I am not sure what it is , thats why I am on here.

If anyone has anything to add please reply here:

This thread is old and was intended for pics b4 install.

Thanks, Mike

My reply was to Lontar1, not to your post ecko. It does sound like there is something else going on with your car.

My Berk came w/ directions too. But there was no pics. I was not clear on what to do w/ the original snorkel part and the part below it w/ the heat sensor.
I have been in contact with Brian @ Berk and he has been extremly helpfull.

PuppetMaster,
Did your instructions say not to drive it until the negative was of the battery for 24 hours. Mine did not. If I did blow my MAF is that prob. why?

Is this the correct part # 226802Y001 ?
I have a flyer from my local dealer w/ a 25% off coupon. I am gonna try to pick one up today.

Anyone know what that small black sensonr is that is a couple inches down the harness near the MAF plug?
