I found a 2k2 6 speed maxima, majestic blue with black cloth and sunroof, no bose system, 55k miles and they want $14,900 something, what do you guys think?
I think 55k miles are a lot... but im thinking that its hard to find a 6 spd maxima so im kind confused...

I got mine silver 6 speed with everything except leather and navi (I did not want leather specifically - took me 6 months to find) - heated cloth and steering wheel is nice
in Feb of this year with 61k miles on it.
I don't think miles matter as much, as they would definitly be highway. AGE is the key. You should be in good shape if the car is clean and maintained.
When I bought mine (at a big GM dealer) I did not know any history about it, but saw it had a K&N drop in, so that gave me some confidence that the previous owner at least cared a bit, plus it came with snow tires on it....
Get the VIN and call your favorite dealer, they will run it for you to see if any work was done at any Nissan dealers. Mine revealed decent maint. history, plus clutch was replaced at like 30k under TSB for the houl noise.
I got it, put some tires on it, did 60k maint for $99, flushed M/T, reoiled K&N.
Since then I had an ABS sensor and Bose Head Unit replaced free of charge under goodwill by Nissan. I also did my front brakes myself (warped rotors had to be cut and new pads)......... 3.5 is nice, coming off a 2.4KAE Altima Auto with 190k on it.
Go for it.!

so if i give the vin number to my dealer, they will find info for the car?
how about if i call nissan USA?
If it checks out, go for it. Majestic Blue is a great color. I'm not sure about the price. You could always ask if they can throw in an extended warranty or something....
I don't have the Bloze and that's ok...from what I've heard, it's not that good a system in the 5.5's.

if they tell that they cannot do it, they are full of it, chances are the guy just does not want to go extra mile for you or does not know how to use ther system....
Make sure to do the suspension and engine sensor recall immidiately if it was not done....and replace tires if they are still OEM. they suck.
Definitly negotiate. if it is at Nissan dealer, it is eligible to be a certified pre-owned which comes with warranty. Get extended warranty out of them, or at least just a service contract, which is same as ext. warranty but only valid at that particular dealership.
I was thnking of selling my 02 6 speed to buy a bigger vehicle. It has 37K miles and I was going to sell it for $14,900. At 37K miles, I have had no problems. All little issues were handled under warranty. The car gets good mpg and I would trust it well over 100K miles as this is my 3rd Maxima. You should not be afraid of teh mileage but thats a little pricey for that many miles. Come to Iowa and buy mine. If you do I'll reimburse you for airfare :-).
Seriously though the miles are fine.

Hey,
It seems like you put alot of money/time into your car, so you'd basicall have to start all over again with the same car essentially, just in a manual instead of an auto... is this worth it to you? To get the exact same car, except YOU were not the only owner and its a manual? I mean, I know for me at least, I don't want my next car to be the exact same thing as I have now. Same gen and everything.

The diff between the auto and manual transforms the car from a quick luxury car to a sporty luxury car IMO. The auto is great but is you really are the type that likes to control the car and row the gears the 6 speed is wonderful. Plus it can get great mileage if you drive nice. 30+ on the hwy easily.

If your dealer has high speed internet access, they can do it thru web browser ... they just use IBM's Host on Demand .. pretty quick. this is how they check for recalls, get goodwill, claim warranty, order parts, etc.... some dealers are on dial up ...so they are reluctant cause it takes a while....

it has new tires on it. What do you mean suspension? change the all suspension? engine sensor? you mean O2 sensor?

Look for a used G35c just off lease. Yea it'll cost more but you can always trade or sell your current Max and be very happy with rear wheel drive.

I like 350Z more though

4-door, I understand. The 350Z is a most horrible car to drive compared to the G35, room and visibility-wise. I'd get a G sedan, if I were you.. I'd wait a bit more until people trading them in for the '05, it will be a big jump in the hp for the 6MT, so prices of MY03/04 will drop. The G has a much sportier interior/feel/handling/anything bone stock compared to the max. Also, I would not agree at all that FWD is that much better for the winter.
But if you really have your heart set on a Maxima, this doesn't seem like a bad price. Just inspect the car carefully for anything that might need to be replaced, and try to negotiate and bring the price down.

I wouldn't do it. Look for a used G coupe or sedan with a manual. I love my Majestic Blue 6spd but really want RWD. Financially it would not be a smart move so therefore I am going to wait. BTW I keep my cars a long time and I only buy new. I don't want to inherit someone else's coverups.
can we still buy a brand new M5 anymore in USA?...what's so good about M5?..how much are they? I would buy a Audi RS6...yea..once i graduate...

The 06 M5 will pack a 6 liter V10 engine pumping out 500 HP. the price tag will be roughly $80,000

about same price...let's see what they gonna do..hehehehehe...both are my No.1 car now..
i talked with the guy from nissan dealer and he said that i own too much money so its kind hard to trade in my maxima right now, he was like the best thing for me is to wait 1-2 more years and will see, im thinking to change from auto to 6 speed at maximum tuning in NY, it will be less $$ for me... or the other thing that im thinking is to get VB stage 2!!!
thanks everybody!!!

There is also a recall on crank seonsor on all 3.5VQs. They replace all of them for free. This can stall your car and leave you stranded....
