BOSE System, PROBLEM? yes OR NO?

i would to know how many from here has the same problem with me, i got ~38,700 miles on my 2k3 max and the only thing that i have problem is with my bose system, left speakers sometimes does not work -depends the bump-, sometimes my right speakers does not work either, sometimes all speakers does not work -the voice is not clear- and 2 days ago that we have 50 degrees my CD player skip for few seconds. I got appoitment with the Dealer in September 28th. Anybody fix this fu*king problem, if so, how?

-I have extended warranty until 100,000 miles and they say if we order new head unit you have to pay $90. I have no problem to pay $90 but if totally fix it.

its either the deck or the Bose amp itself in the trunk. But from your symptons it sounds like a bad deck.

goodluck!

There have been several problems reported with the Bose systems. One side out, CD whir, etc. I had both of these and I'm on my 3rd unit (12 months and still good).

i dont have bose anymore, but a problem i encountered with it AFTER i removed it was within the wiring for the driver side front speaker. there was no charge coming from teh wire going to that speaker. so when i put in my new infinity speaker, i had to fish a separate wire for just that one speaker, and used stock wiring for all the others.

You got the same exact problem I have with mine. Supposedly the dealer has one on order but they told me 1 week , it's been 2 and I still haven't heard from them. I am beginning to think that they were lying to me. If they don't have it ordered that is it, I am calling up Nissan and letting them know just how ****ty I have been treated there. I love my Max but I will never buy another Nissan again because of these jerk offs!

Yup.... cd player skips in colder temps (under 65 degs or something like that) and driver side speakers will go out for several minutes every once in a while... I've replaced the head unit once for no charge, and apparently the dealership will do it again when I bring it back. Seems like the dealership that I go to isn't fussing about this and is being very cooperative... of course they stole/threw away my K&N filter, but we won't go there right now....

I have the left side speaker problem. It is fine on radio, but very muffled on CD. I took the car to the dealer today and they are going to call Nissan to "see what they can do" because I have 37,800 miles. The problem started at 36,500 miles. Just my luck. I am sure Nissan will not cover this.

Did you use the stock deck? How do the Infinity's sound?

35k and still fine. In fact, everyone always thinks I have an aftermarket system in the car and I always tell them it's stock.

I'm not an audiophile or anything, but the stock Bose is less than impressive.

In fact, I'm having problems just like the original poster -- sometimes, when playing a CD, the left side speakers just all but cut out. I think it's the left-side filter on the CD player.

In any case, I'm on my second unit now, and I'm going on my third. Note, 28k miles on my 2k2.

If it happens with the third unit I'm just going to get an aftermarket replacement, even though I dont like dropping money into too much stereo stuff.

00, 73k, no problems yet. My 97's bose sometimes gives the CD err for a week on end, and then works fine for a few months. I think I'll circumvent this issue with a radio transmitter and a discman.

Just dropped off my car and the deler ask me if they can duplicate the problem. It worked this morning when I drop off. Lets see what they say. They may say it is fine, because they could not duplicate.

That happened to me when i took it to them. I just went in w/ a copy of the TSB and they ordered me a new head unit even though it worked fine when the tech looked at it.

Be prepared to wait over a month for a new one to come in. They told me 4-5 weeks and they were NOT kidding. They send us remanufactured heads from Japan. I think they send them in on a boat, not a plane.

One small annoyance I have is while at speed, if while CD player is running, I advance a song, the speed control volume thinks its back at zero and the volume drops till the volume control is touched, then it jumps back to where it should be. Does everyone else notice this? Is this normal, would the dealer fix this?

Sorry to hijack this thread, but this is a Bose problem.

yea man know how you feel my cd changer whirred like a **** and i didnt know what to do so i ended up replacing it with a better head unit altogether and im happy (pioneer). later i read in some forum that it might have had a dirty laser lens or whatever and all i had to do is buy a cd player cleaner haha. oh well i got a new head unit and speakers in the process so im good to go. oh yea, nissan wasnt so merciful with my bose system wanted to charge me 600$ for the cd changer alone. said it wasnt in warranty which was BS but wutever.

My subwoofer "died". kept cutting out at random until one day i poked around and pulled the resistor circuit that only seems to be there to eliminate the pop. Pulled this crap out and connected the sub straight to the plug. Been working like a dream. I only get a single pop whenever i supply power to the car though, and it's not loud anyway.

i would elaborate much better but i am lazy

No HU issues yet and i don't expect any.

Actually, my warranty is already gone. I'm over 36k. But they warranty the unit for 12k miles from the install date so as long as mine continues to break every 4000 miles or so I'm covered. They are getting faster though - last time I was out in around 45 minutes. Not that this is anything to brag about.

I just came from my fuc*ing dealer, they said that i passed the 36k miles so it doenst covered to my warranty, i was like but i have warranty until 100.000 miles and they said not for radio, i was like fine how much for it, they said $450.
also they said you lowered your vehicle so if anything happen to your suspension we cant do anything, i was like "look, im here for my radio not for my suspension". What im gonna do? any ideas? I dont want to spend $450
